Magic under the sea

Cozumel has definitely lived up to my expectations! I dove here with Michelle on a cruise trip 7 years ago and was sorely disappointed. This trip, that has not been the case. We dove magnificent reefs called Palancar, Cedral, Columbia and Santa Rosa Wall. The cool thing about diving Cozumel is the water is so clear because it sits right next to a deep trench. We did drift dives, meaning you enter the water at one location and drift with the current until it’s time to surface. It akin to flying. You’re basically weightless underwater and gliding along the bottom or a vertical wall is practically effortless. We saw gorgeous corals, sponges and fish. Visibility regularly exceeded 100 feet. Enjoy the pictures and I’ll try to caption them for clarification.

We saw several sea turtles. These endanger animals stay submerged up to 20 minutes before returning to the surface for air.
